today, it was the day to display our completed book about our city (we had to choose different activites to do for each page) and diorama, that is if we made one. another thing you could do was bake a recipe that originated from your city. my recipe from san diego was caesar salad, but im like, who's gonna eat CAESAR SALAD if i bring it in? no one. instead, i baked brownies and boy did i make a good decision. they were gone in literally, 5 seconds. now you're probably wondering, well, WHY are you talking about this if the subject has NOTHING WHATSOEVER to do with what im telling you? ok, i admit it, i am stalling... i'll get to the point. well, my friend caitlin ACTUALLY did find a recipe for her city, las vegas, and guess what that was? yuup, deep fried oreos. sounds kind of gross and very strange, but i tried them, and there not as bad as you would expect. i mean they ARE a little mushy and all, and uhhh, yeah, they're SO NOT a 'health food'. look at the recipe below:

Instructions
Things You'll Need:
1 dozen Oreo brand chocolate cookies
1 cup regular pancake mix
3/4 cup ice water or very cold milk
3 cups vegetable oil, for frying
2 tablespoon confectioner's sugar
Step 1
Place about a dozen oreos into a ziploc freezer proof bag.Freeze the Oreo cookies for at least three hours. You can also keep a bag in the freezer if you want to make these spur-of-the moment they will keep indefinitely before being fried.
Step 2
Heat the vegetable oil on medium high heat in a medium saucepan or fryer.
Step 3
Combine the pancake mix with the ice-water or milk, stir until lumps are gone and batter is smooth.
Step 4
Dip Frozen Oreo cookies into batter mix then fry on both sides until golden brown, drain on paper towels.
Step 5
Sprinkle with confectioner's sugar, serve while still warm. Bite into absolute heaven.
3 cups of VO? are you kidding me? ok, the recipe caitlin's called for was 4 cups... a little better... but still, crazyiness i tell you!
note for people on diets: VERY HAZARDOUS. stay away from the oreos, i repeat stay away. ;P
