it's your serve, and you're not sure about what's going to happen next. your head does a spin and all you can focus on it getting it over. your hand lifts up; you eye the ball.

you and the ball are now one. your hand thrusts into the air and the ball goes flying. your other hand extends and contacts the ball. the ball soars a few yards. you wince as the ball bounces off the net. you didn't make it.

it's your serve again, the game point. you have to make it. you know you can do it. you feel it deep down in the depths of your body. you repeat the same process, but this time you don't worry.

the ball makes it over the net and you've made the point. the ball nods, and your teammates applause. you are proud. you are happy. it's complete bliss. well, at least for now.
