can you all believe that the olympics will be coming to an end in just a couple of days?  it seems like is has just flown by so fast...

just to hold you all on until then,

here's a collection of my top favorite winter olympic athletes =)

kim yuna

 

this amazing athlete has become a mega-huge star in south korea- in fact, did you hear that she can't even train in korea because of her popularity?  she has to train in canada to escape the mobs of fans. 

this girl is awesome- you can just tell how yuna is different than all the other skaters because she is so graceful and smooth. 

the gold medalist girl did her best and definitely pleased her many fans. 

you go girl!

j.r. celski

j.r celski, short-track speedskater, has captured the hearts of many after his life-or-death accident that happened 6 months ago when he got seriously injured during a competition to get into the olympics.   with his skate digging 6 inches into his leg, nobody thought that he'd ever skate again.  but no, 2 months after the accident, he started skating again. And look now everybody, 4 months later, j.r. has made it to the olympics!  what an amazing guy!   

this half phillipino half polish 19 year old cutie is most likely (and hopefully) going to be in the 2014 olympics.  so all those j.r. fans,  (uh-hem, ALLY) be ready!

and as ally says, 'j.r celski *clap clap clap clap clap* (in the same tune as the korean cheer: daehan meen guk, *clap clap clap clap clap*)!!!

apolo ohno

you've probably seen ohno in a number of commericials.  even dancing with the stars. 

this athlete is probably the most famous american athlete in the 2010 winter olympics.  with 8 (?) medals, he has the most total medals coming from a winter olympic athlete.  and boy, does apolo have some skill!  at the torino olmpics 4 years ago, he beat the koreans who are literally UNBEATABLE! 

if you hear apolo's story though (his mother leaving him when he was a kid and being raised by his father), you can't NOT hope he'll win.

lindsey vonn

american alpine ski racer, lindsey vonn, won the gold medal in the 2010 olympics; the first woman from the u.s. to ever do so.  lindsey has gained a tremendous amount of popularity and is loved by many.

korean short track speed skaters

and, yes, to be loyal, i AM routing for the men korean short track speed-skaters  (all of them, not just the one on the photo above).  they are pretty darn good, don't you agree?  imagine how mad they are at apolo for taking away their medal at torino!
