now, nick vujicic isn't your normal or average 27 yr old man because he was born without limbs. i got the privilage of hearing this amazing guy at the high school that continues with the school i go to. he wasn't suppose to speak with us, but was here for a convention in portland the next day. one of the high school students watched a youtube video and was strongly moved by his words, so she prayed that God would pave a way so that he could come to speak. by the help of the right people, the principle got in contact with the foundation life without limbs to see if nick could speak to them. he said today that as a kid, he got questioned and teased alot and he would come home crying almost every day after school. at age 8 he told his mom that he wanted to commit suicide. can you believe that? he was only in 2nd or 3rd grade and he wanted to commit suicide. when he was 10, he actually tried to drown himself by turning in the bath tub. by the 3rd try, he gave up knowing that it would be much more painful to have his parents sit at his grave than to have them seeing him without limbs. as life went on for nick, he gave his life to Jesus when he was 15. today his relationship grows with God and gets about 200 invitations each week to come and speak in various places. even though it was hard for nick, God surely had a grand plan for him.
Jeremiah 29:11-12
11 For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. 12 Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you.

ReplyDeleteHi Lindsey -- it's Auntie Candice from L.A. I enjoyed your blog post about Nick Vujicic. I only recently discovered him myself and was so touched by his story. Anyway, he's going to be speaking at the Lake Ave. Church in Pasadena in May, so I'm going to try and hear him speak too. I may see you in July as we're hoping to visit Portland/Salem then. Miss you!
