the cho family united: part 1

hola my (well, not technically all MY) faithful laces readers!  elena has returned from her itty-bitty cave of business and has returned to the wonderful world of blogging!  now that sounded a little corny... but what can i say?  i've been on a writer's high all day today.  i typed up half of my big science project today, and i have to admit, i actually found it pretty *gasp* fun *gasp*.  i finally did my homework today without throwing into a big ball of stress!  that is a pretty big accomplishment for me, i have to say so myself.  no homework hanging on the edge, no grumpy-elena.  hm, so that's how the system goes.

so what exactly does this whole paragraph-long speech have to do with the title?  i'll tell you what: absolutely nothing.

so, i think i should start moving on and get to the point.

let's see... the point... the point... oh yes!  the title!

the cho family united is basically just a more... uhem... sophisticated way of saying that we had a family reunion with the cho's (my mom's side of tree).  so, without further ado, i present to you: the CHO FAMILY REUNION PICTURES! this is only part 1 (i'm thinking about 3 parts minimum) which is solely focused my mom's younger brother and his family.  it is set the week prior to the big family get together in which we do our job as a good host and go 'sight seeing'!  yay!!

p.s. hang on tight!  it's gonna be a long, long ride.  i mean, i won't put up all 500+ pictures we took this week (thank goodness), but when you have that many to choose from, you never know how many you'll end up with.

day 1: the portland farmers market

enjoying our scrumptious elephant ears... something new for the visitors

'mommy!! mommy!! I WANT TO GO ON THE TRAIN!!!' -keaton, adorable little cousin

day 2: ponzi wine tasting and hmart korean market

was a little disappointed that i didn't get to taste any... who knew there was an age limit?  *laughs*

gulping down some... expensive wine!

very beautiful, eh?  beautiful, yes, but ponzi did indeed dissapoint- the winery is located RIGHT NEXT TO A LANDFILL FOR PETE'S SAKE!

a quick shot of me + keaton pushing the wee little cart at hmart korean market.  responses from the visitors: 'this is the biggest korean market i've seen in my life!'

day 3: the columbia river gorge and the fish hatchery

along the scenic way up to the waterfalls lies the women's forum- don't know why it's called what it's called, but nonetheless, what a breathtaking view!

day 5 (day 3 my mom was sick =( and day 4, i was too ): the pearl district

these rare sunny days are the reason why we live in portland

someone take a stab and guess where this is? great gelato, great italian-ish food, GREAT paninis... i'm sure you've been to via delitzia (pearl district) before.

and we'll wrap things up here...  and it's a little sad how my mom and i had to catch that nasty little bug!  mommy sick on tuesday, me on wednesday... oh the tragic irony of life.

anywhoo....
look forward to part 2 coming soon!

oh, and some comments would be GREATLY appreciated!  they let me know that someone is actually reading these posts and i'm not just blogging to myself =)
