random drabbles from a blogger's soul: V

so, this idea struck me, and i just had to right it down...

sound familiar?

thought so.

---------------------------

She’s embarrassed.  Like, totally and utterly embarrassed.  She flips the hood of her jersey up and over, masking the trickling of tears tumbling down her face.  She sprints farther, away from the troubles, as if physically leaving them behind would make them emotionally disappear as well.  This is not happening.  This cannot be happening.  But there’s no use in trying to deny it, because the roar of laughter and the words You Obese Pimpled Freak! coming from the mouth of her one and only best friend seem to be following her, even as she runs for dear life. They haunt her and remind her of her fate.  And her lonely, despicable, and utterly horrid destined life.

A life where you’re constantly hiding from the big bad monsters of high school, being ridiculed by the student body as a whole.

A life where crying yourself to sleep is nothing unusual.

A life where you’re the only person you can truly trust.

She hides herself away from society every waking moment, minus when no one is around and she’s asleep.

When she’s at school, she tries to go without being noticed.  But when you’re a 400 pound 16-year-old with borderline acne problems, it’s kind of hard to go under the radar.

She even hides herself inside her own home.  Her mother says she’s a walking disgrace, and her father says her sight makes his eyes sting.  Her two brothers just nod along to whatever they say.

She’s tried diets.  She’s searched Google for how to get rid of blubber and has read through 89 pages of it.  She’s tried eating healthier food, she’s tried excercising- heck, she’s tried stealing some pimple cream from the market.  But nothing works.  And it’s not like she can go to the doctors or dermatologist either.  She’s poor, and it’s not like her ‘parents’ would take her anyway.

So she does the other thing.  She drowns herself in self pity and longs for the day when her chains will be unbound.   When she’ll be free from the wrath of the world.
